Happy birthday Shahrukh Khan! The King of Bollywood turned 44 on Monday and Sanjay Kapoor threw him a star-studded party at his house in Mumbai. Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Karan Johar all showed up to celebrate the famous actor’s special day.
And what a year for Shahrukh! His new movie "My Name is Khan" is set to release on February 12 next year, which also happens to Valentine’s Day! But that doesn't mean that the movie has a romantic theme. Quite the opposite. It tells the story of Rizwan Khan, a Muslim from Mumbaiwho marries a Hindu single mother, Mandira, who lives in San Francisco. When Rizwan shows up in the U.S., he is detained by authorities for "suspicious behavior." And in a twist of irony, Shahrukh was himself detained at a New York City airport when he came to the U.S. to promote the flick!
So how does it feel to turn 44? Well apparently, age ain’t nothing but a number to this megastar! "I have been in my 40s since a few years now and I gracefully accept the age. But honestly, I feel like I am just 25 or 26 except for the physical problems I've had in my past year," Shahrukh told reporters who had gathered to cover the event.
