It is indeed the much awaited time for actress Anjali while her career in the film industry is considered. She started off her journey with the Katradhu Tamizh withJeeva in Tamil cinema. Her very first movie showcased her acting potentials to the filmmakers and fans. However, ironically, she did not get many good offers asexpected. Big banner movies became elusive for her, as she did leading roles in movies under the small banners.
However, when Angaadi Theru had its release, she again proved to the Tamil cinemaindustry that she is indeed an actress with great acting talents. The year of 2011 turned out to be a great year for her, as she starred in the multi starrers Mankatha and Engeyum Eppodhum. Mankatha became a box office blockbuster and Engeyum Eppodhum became a hit too. In addition to this, Engeyum Eppodhum gave her the opportunity to garner quite a few awards, including the best lead actress award in Vijay awards, for her scintillating performance opposite Jai in the movie.
Before her latest release Kalakalappu with Vimal, Anjali carried a tag that she is good only in doing the homely roles without any glamour stuff. However, the actress broke that tag by appearing quite glamorously on screen in Kalakalappu. The comical movie, which has become a hit, consists of songs with skin shows featuring Anjali and actress Oviya.
Ask Anjali whether she is up for the glamour roles now, which she avoided for the last couple of years, the pretty actress says that she is definitely not ready to carry the tag of being ‘sexy’ always on screen. All she says is that she does not want to get stereotyped with one tag. She adds that she does not want to act glamorous in movies just for the sake of glamour. However, she says that if the movie script has a valid point for her to go glamour, then she would happily agree to do such a role. She further adds that she is open to all types of roles to prove her acting skills always!
