An anonymous police officer told The Associated Press that Michael Jackson’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Los Angeles County coroner, MTV.com reports. The cause of death was reportedly a combination of the anesthetic propofol and the sedatives lorazepam and midazolam, all three very powerful drugs.
Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, who treated him for insomnia, is under investigation for manslaughter. Dr. Murray released a video last week in which he claims his innocence: "I have done all I could do. I told the truth, and I have faith that truth will prevail."
A statement issued by Michael’s family doesn’t mention the alleged drug overdose but calls for justice: "The Jackson family has full confidence in the legal process, and commends the ongoing efforts of the L.A. County Coroner, the L.A. District Attorney and the L.A. Police Department. The family looks forward to the day that justice can be served."
What a tragic destiny for the King of Pop!
