America’s Best Dance Crew were trained by famous choreographer Nakul Dev Mahajan to learn hot new so called "Bollywood" moves.
While there is no denying that the choreography reflected the Desi culture, they weren’t anywhere near what you would see on the silver screen in B-town. Instead the competing teams performed steps from traditional regional dance forms. But with the popularity of Bollywood, it seems that all things Desi are now being related to the Hindi film industry!
So how did they do? Which team took their "Jai Ho" to the next level and which crew banged the Bhangra? Massive Monkees won the previous challenge and was the first team to show off their new dancing skills! And while their performance was more break-dance than Bhangra, they electrified the audience and impressed the jury.
Vogue Evolution was up next in a Rajasthani-inspired piece that failed to impress the jury. But despite some behind-the-scenes drama, the group still managed to rock the scarfs!
Rhythm City on the other hand became one with Bollywood City as they killed those deer and lotus moves to Pussycat Dolls’ remix of AR Rahman’s "Jai Ho." The group from Bronx mastered the fusion style and even took their shoes off! Needless to say, the jury loved it!
Afroborike handled their Khatak routine well and even though they were out of sync at times, they put on a high tempo acrobatic show with bells around their feet.
We Are Heroes and Beat Ya Feet Kings had to fight the final battle. We Are Heroes came up with a simple clapping choreography to Busta Rhymes’ remix of "Arab Money," but managed somehow to convince the jury that they were worth keeping.
So Beat Ya Feet Kings had to beat it. The team from D.C. couldn’t pull off the knee spins to Sean Paul’s "So Fine," and had to go home, abandoning all hopes of winning the popular dance show.
Which team do you think should have been saved and who needed to go back to Bollywood for more practice? Drop us a line.
