LiLo ‘desperately wants to play Monroe in Some Like It Hot remake’

Troubled star Lindsay Lohan desperately wants to star in the remake of movie classic Some Like It Hot, which starred her idol Marilyn Monroe.

The Mean Girls actress, who has done two Monroe-themed photoshoots and has a quote from Some Like it Hot tattooed on her wrist, wants to take her obsession with the stunner to the big screen, and is pitching a remake to Hollywood bosses, reports Contactmusic.

However, according to OK! magazine, director Brett Ratner has rejected the idea. But that is not crushing Lohan’s spirits.

A source tells the tabloid, “Lindsay is pinning her hopes on getting a remake of Some Like It Hot off the ground.

“She’’s undaunted, but there’’s no script and there’’s no money. The only thing Lindsay has to sell is herself.

“She sees herself as the second coming of Marilyn Monroe – misunderstood, talented and in desperate need of an incredible film vehicle that will truly showcase her talents.”

Paul McCartney ‘to hang up guitar with farewell world tour next year’

Sir Paul McCartney wants to call it quits after a final world tour in which he wishes to perform at places where he has never played before, it has emerged.

According to a source, there are talks going on to let him stage at landmark locations like China’’s Tiananmen Square and the region around Berlin’’s Checkpoint Charlie.Sir Paul McCartney

“He’’s making enquiries about a number of special locations and he’’s keen to play in China and at Checkpoint Charlie,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

The insider said: “I just hope the UK will be on the loveable mop-top’’s itinerary.”

The former Beatles singer’s last major stint in Britian was the Back In The World Tour in 2003.

McCartney, who will be 70 by the time the planned concerts get over, apparently, wants to hang his guitar with a big bang.

The source added: “Paul wants to go out with a bang.

“He’’s played countless stadiums over his 50-year career and is on the hunt for the most unusual locations he can find.

“He realises that the older he gets, the less his body will be able to cope with the demands of extended periods on the road.

“He might play the odd benefit gig if the likes of President Obama gives him a bell – but other than that he”ll be putting his feet up and enjoying retirement.

“The tour in 2010 is likely to last well over a year, by which time he will be almost 70.”
