AR Rahman's Son Ameen Rahman Is Following His Father's Musical Foosteps

World renowned composer, producer, musician, and singer extraordinaire AR Rahman has had a very successful year. This year not only did AR Rahman receive the usual awards and recognition from his Bollywood peers, he also gained the international acclaim every composer dreams of with a couple Oscars; one for best original song and the other for best original score. He inspires so many its no wonder that AR Rahman's son Ameen will be joining his father in the music biz.

Ameen, 6 years old, aspires to be a playback singer. He has just sung his first song for the Hollywood film 'Couple's Retreat'. A member of Rahman's camp, Vjay Mohan Iyer tell us, "' Couples Retreat' is a Universal Studio Production. AR's son, Ameen, has sung a few lines for a song which is still 'work in progress. The song has not been finalized yet, but yes Ameen did lend his voice to the production." With A.R. Rahman as the musical composer, Ameen must be at ease in recording sessions. The movie 'Couples Retreat' stars some big Hollywood names including Vince Vaughn, Kristen Bell, and Jason Bateman. It is a romantic comedy directed by Peter Billingsley hitting theaters October 9, 2009. The opportunities that AR Rahman is seeing in Hollywood will undoubtedly help his son get recognition he deserves even faster than his dad did.

A source close to the family said, "A.R. Rahman's family and people in his office have still not gotten over the fact that Rahman's little son has sung the song. They are very excited and happy and can't stop talking about it. His mom and dad are very proud of him."

So what do you think about A.R. Rahman's son Ameen Rahman becoming a singer? Is Ameen too young? Do you think that the talent will run in the family? Leave us your comments and thoughts below.
