Despite the fact that most Bollywood movies don't show kissing, let alone touch on controversial politics, actors have their own lives and causes outside of the film world. Celina Jaitley is one of those women. It wasn't too long ago that she re-launched her gay magazine 'Bombay Dost'; well now she's taking her desire to support gay rights a step further.
She said that Bollywood is behind amending Indian Penal Code of Section 377, which says that homosexuality is a crime. She said that "Bollywood is very supportive and the day this article is repealed, I am sure many people will come out openly in support of that and there are a lot of people in our industry who are from the sexual minority and they have given a lot to our industry."
Hopefully she's right, because most often people aren't vocal about their support even if they're not against it. She added that "I don't blame anyone for not supporting. People fear to support such an act, when there is no law to protect them."
So what do our readers think about the fact that homosexuality is still not accepted in India? Do you think that it's time to get rid of a law that says that it is a crime to be in a same sex relationship? Let us know what your thoughts are.
