Adhyayan Suman Celebrates Rakhi With Red Light Community

Hey all you big brothers out there! Hope you've got a lot of cash on hand today! For those of you who don't know or aren't celebrating, today is Rakhi, also known as Raksha Bandhan. Rakhi originated in the medieval era when the Rajputs were attempting to fight off Muslim invaders. At the time, since most men were out fighting, Rakhi began as a spiritual binding of protection for one's sisters. The festivities usually consist of the sister tying a string around her brother's wrist and him promising to protect her throughout her life. The two then eat some sweets and the brother gives his sister a gift.

This year, Bollywood actor, Adhyayan Suman decided to celebrate in an unconventional way. He headed to the red light district in Mumbai to reach out to the community. He met with some of the local women and went through all of the traditions, including giving gifts. We're not sure how much cash he shelled out to his new adopted sisters, but from the photos it looked like it was a nice ceremony. There was dancing and performances as well as the giving of Rakhi. Everyone was all smiles and very festive. Check out some of the photos below!
