Sona Mohapatra shocked the world in 2007 with her debut album "Sona" and now she's back with a new single, "Diljale." Her urban Desi style fuses classical and folk music with a touch of rock. With such an unusual mix, Sona has set herself apart from the crowd. Sona also performs with a band, which gives her music a signature sound. Her voice is not too high, nor too sweet. It is rather powerful and unique, and we love it!
Not only has this eclectic beauty made her mark on the pop scene, she has also lent her voice to a few Bollywood numbers. Her first tune was "Chayee Madhoshian” with Sonu Niigaam from the movie "Jumbo." And there are more songs to be expected from Sona. The pop princess is currently working on her second solo album and she has released a teaser for her video "Diljale." The video is set in NYC and it represents the loneliness big city people feel sometimes. With such a powerful message, Sona belts out her lyrics and relays the emotions evoked in the lyrics and video. We also see her on stage with her five-piece band and she looks ravishing!
