'Kill Bill' Star David Carradine Found Dead

David Carradine wearing a black leather jacket at an autograph signing.David Carradine, star of the popular "Kill Bill" series and the 1970's show "Kung Fu" was found dead yesterday at a hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand. His lifeless body was found half-naked hanging from a curtain rope in a closet. Reports are sketchy, but according to Thai police, they believe he committed suicide. He was 72 years old.

Crew and friends of David Carradine became concerned about his whereabouts when he failed to show up for a dinner. Carradine was in Bangkok, Thailand to film a movie. A possible cause to his death other than suicide could be attributed to auto erotic asphyxiation. This sexual act also took the life of rock band INXS lead singer Michael Hutchence in 1997. No word yet on whether that may have been a cause, but this is still a developing story. In a bit of sad and twisted irony, one of Carradine's most recent movies was called "My Suicide."

His personal manager, Chuck Binder, told BBC that the news was "shocking", adding: "He was full of life, always wanting to work... a great person."

David Carradine, the son of actor John Carradine was known to many as Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine in the hit 1970's TV show "Kung Fu." The TV series spawned a hit movie of the same title and numerous spinoff TV series. A new generation of fans came to know him as "Bill" from the massively successful films "Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2." He also had cameo appearances on shows such as "Alias" and "Charmed."

We here at Desi Hits! offer our deepest condolences to David Carradine's family. We pray that he may rest in peace. Feel free to post your thoughts below on this tragic story.
