In Hollywood, being on the cusp of fashion is certainly a priority for major stars, especially when the papz are lurking around every corner. God forbid you should be caught in last week's trends and land on every worst dressed list from here to Timbuktu; a dismal shame for any young celeb and definite cause for long term isolation and lifetime membership to the Ben and Jerry's 'I eat straight out of the carton' club.
For budding songstress Rihanna, this means to turn it up a few notches...well in her case a few hundred notches. She's setting the fashion world on fire with her unforgettable outfits.
Over the past year or so, Rihanna's fashion has certainly evolved from classic yet forgettable looks into rock and roll glam queen. Whether on the stage, red carpet, or walking the streets of New York, Rihanna has definitely been spotted in some of the most trend setting outfits the fashion world has seen. And this is how she did it.
The first major overhaul was her hair. The Barbadian princess ditched her long, waist length locks for a much shorter edgier, cropped look. Next, she traded up her wardrobe. And thank God she did! She said goodbye to her cutesy jeans and tees for Gucci and other big labels. Rihanna is not one to stray away from leather, plaid, frills, cut offs and cut ups, and anything else she can get her hands on to create a jaw dropping look.
Well from what we've seen so far, she's definitely rocking it! Is there any look she can't pull off? Flashbulbs get ready as this fashionista is sure to cause a scene everywhere she goes.
Take a look at the pics below and let us know if you think Rihanna has made the transition from average, to an iconic symbol in the fashion world...leave some comments below.
