Kamini says, it's All About Image!

Your Kamini is all about image this week. The way we want to be seen and when it conflicts with the fear of how we might be seen. This week, Saif Ali Khan's sunglasses were stolen at an event to promote "Love Aaj Kal." The star is reported to have fifty pairs at home. This pair looked good, they were Dolce & Gabbana with white frames that matched his shirt. He walked in wearing them and after setting them down, they were gone. Director Imitiaz Ali's wallet was also stolen at the event.

The Cineplex that hosted the event shifted the focus to the jewelry store Saif Ali Khan and Imitiaz Ali's visited before coming there. I guess they wanted to uphold an image as safe and nonthreatening. While the Cineplex may have wanted to remove themselves from the story, this image is irresponsible and cowardly. Crime happens and particularly when economic divides are strong. The Cineplex could have stated a simple comment that the circumstance is unfortunate and highlighted the event's success. Instead, they talked about another store in the multiplex? Cowardly!

I wondered if girlfriend Kareena Kapoor's diva ways would rub off on Saif Ali Khan. It seems they haven't because his response was low key. He said, "This is not the end of the world. Life goes on." I like the levity of the comment. Come on, he has fifty pair at home and missing glasses are not going to shake him much. He's only going to have to walk out with a modified look. Someone made a comment that the glasses made his nose look big anyway. Maybe he's better off without them.

Both Saif and Imtiaz remarked their continued interest in Ahmedabad. They could see the actions of a few individuals separate from the city itself. That shows their pride in India is genuine. Their images as Indians and personally is not so easily shaken.

More Chatter...

The new ink of wife Suzanne's name on Hrithik Roshan's arm might be trying too hard. If you need a flag to show who you love, are you following your heart or are you nervous the rumors of an affair with costar Barbara Mori are getting to you?

Kareena Kapoor is concerned she won't be able to watch her new movie's love scenes with her parents. Some things are never to be shared with your parents. Is the diva concerned or could this be a ploy for attention to said love scene and Kareena's career?

Brazil goes India, and why not? "Caminho Das Indias" shows the discrimination in India's caste system and is something Brazilians can relate to. And love's challenge to all our barriers is universal; it's got Brazilian's speaking Hindi!

With a top notch rank in high society, Kamini Chatterjee knows who’s who. From a nightclub in Mumbai to a boutique in Soho, Kamini is everywhere. She's a jetsetter with an agenda. If you have something she wants, whether it's the juiciest gossip or latest handbag, she'll get it. And you thought your secret (or Prada) was safe!
