Madonna To Visit Injured Stagehands, Family Affected By Stage Collapse

According to the mag, the star was set to visit workers recovering at two hospitals, as well as the family of a lighting technician, 53-year-old Charles Criscenzo, who was killed when a set collapsed on Thursday at the city’s Velodrome stadium.

A second man injured in the incident, 23-year-old Charles Prow, died after a brief hospitalization.

Before the accident, Madonna had been slated to perform the latest show in her “Sticky & Sweet” tour at the venue on Sunday night. However, the show was canceled following the fatal accident.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Madonna paid tribute to the two men at a performance in Undine, Italy, on Thursday night.

“When they were building my show in Marseille, where we’re going next… we don’t know why, but one of the cranes fell… Two men lost their lives, it was a great tragedy to me,” she said, before adding she was “so, so devastated” by the loss.
