Rihanna Ready to Perform Again

April 16 2009 19:55 PST

Rihanna is just about ready to go back out where she feels most comfortable: on stage. Rihanna is slated to perform in front of 25,000 screaming fans in Dubai on May 28. This performance is significant as it is at the moment going to be her first public appearance and performance since her alleged assault incident involving her boyfriend, or ex-boyfriend depending on who you read, Chris Brown.

Rihanna has understandably laid low since then, being out of the public eye, hanging out with her family and friends, getting tattoos of guns on her rib cage, and just regrouping so she can move on with her life. Part one of that regrouping will come by starting her career up again.

Dubai is certainly amped up for this event. Dubai tourism spokesman Mary Rachelle Cherpak said: "There will be over 25,000 tickets available. They will be going on sale in the next couple of days." She promises fans they'll be in for a treat, adding: "Normally they create a special stage in the desert for these events."

After touring and promoting her last smash album "Good Girl Gone Bad," Rihanna could have used some time off anyway. After 8 singles and the Kanye West-headlined Glow In The Dark tour, she was probably burnt out. After a few months off, taking to the stage might prove therapeutic for the 21 year old R&B star. Ever since her debut album 'Music of the Sun' in 2005, she has practically been touring and performing nonstop for nearly four years.

Rihanna has reportedly sent organizers a 38-page document listing her rider requests, including anti-bacterial soap and three lemons. For those that don't know, a rider is a contract that the artist signs with a concert promoter that requires certain things need to be there in order for the artist to perform. It can be as minimal as soap and lemons and other times it can be as crazy as a bowl of only green M&M's. Well, she's a major star now so I guess the promoters need to do whatever it takes in order for her to deliver the best performances possible.

What do you guys think about Rihanna finally stepping back out on stage? Do you think Rihanna should have done this comeback performance in India? Are you happy that she is at least trying to move on with her life? Let us know what you're thinking regarding this matter.
