Much has been written, said and speculated about the high profile case involving R&B singers Chris Brown and Rihanna and now even more details are emerging about the alleged domestic abuse that took place the evening prior to Grammy Awards night in Los Angeles.Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies in the alleged beating of Rihanna, and sparked outrage and shock bringing domestic abuse to the forefront. Many had hoped Rihanna would emerge from this leaving Chris and becoming an advocate against domestic abuse, but for the time being both are not true.
What is perhaps equally as shocking is the fact that Rihanna has decided to reconcile with Chris and the two were together at P. Diddy's home in Miami, Florida. Chris Brown was even photographed laughing and smiling while riding a jet ski, even checking out other women, which sparked outrage among many. Also, after angry parents demanded that Chris be removed as a nominee in the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards to no avail, Chris Brown's reps announced he voluntarily withdrew his name from the list of nominees.
Now we learn that even with a pending criminal case against him, and that awful testimony of what actually transpired in that car being released, Chris Brown and Rihanna are recording a duet together. The producer of the track, Polow Da Don, told People magazine, "My heart goes out to both Chris and Rihanna for what has happened in the past," says Polow. "They are both great artists to work with, and I wish them well." The track is said to be a "sweet and sentimental" and "expresses the challenges of a love relationship." Really, are they serious?
This case definitely brings up a hot button issue and while many are saying Rihanna somehow sparked this. What we do have to remember is at the end of the day no matter how big of star they are, they are still young people who still have to deal with their own problems just as every human being does. What is apparent is that they both need help, and time apart to really understand why this happened.
